" Don't worry honey - Legacy will look after you and Javas when I am not here."

Javas and Yulia lost Norm when he tragically passed away from cancer as a result of his war service. Javas was just six-years-old when he lost his father.

Yulia knew she was going to be supported by Legacy because of those reassuring words from her late husband Norm. In Legacy, Yulia and Javas have another family to turn to in times of need.

"Norm was right! Legacy has been there for me and Javas and it has taken so much off my shoulders.

"It's just Javas, me, and Legacy."

Legacy's ability to provide critical support services to veteran's families is only possible because of the generosity of people like you. Your kindness impacts the lives of many veterans' families.

With the help of donors, Legacy was able to provide Javas with a new laptop during the COVID-19 lockdown.

"That laptop, it is more than a computer for Javas," says Yulia. "It's love. It's support. Looking at it reminds him of Legacy and that connects him to his father. It is much more than a computer, it is a connection with his daddy."

You can honour veterans who sacrificed their life or health in service of this nation by donating to Legacy this Remembrance Day. Please Do More Than Remember by donating as generously as you can.

There's no doubt 2020 has thrown a lot at us: first the devastating bushfires, then the pandemic. Before COVID-19,
many of our veterans' families were already struggling emotionally and financially.

The added impacts of social isolation and financial distress have pushed some to breaking point. By donating to this appeal, you could help
provide emergency financial relief to a to a veteran's family doing it tough. You can help a Legacy child, like Javas, to access critical study
equipment or textbooks. Your kindness could also provide much-needed counselling for families.

Please donate as generously as you can
this Remembrance Day.

"It is a real privilege to serve veterans' families like Yulia and Javas. As the daughter of a veteran myself, it means a lot to me to be able to give back to the families of those who served our nation."

It is so important for those left behind that Legacy is there to support them in their hour of need. For Javas, that has meant help with his education and socialising with other kids like him at Legacy events. While events are on hold due to COVID-19, Yulia and Javas know that I am always just a phone call away if they need Legacy."

I know that many veterans' families, like families Australia-wide, have really struggled in recent times. The stress of job losses, home schooling, lockdown and financial uncertainty piled on top of existing issues has pushing many to breaking point."

That's why Legatees like me are so very grateful for the support of Legacy's wonderful donors. We simply could not do what we do without their continued support."

Thank you

Tracey - Proud Legatee since 2016

ORIGINS OF REMEMBERANCE DAY1

Why is this day special to Australians?
At 11 am on 11 November 1918, the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. In that time, more than 330,000 Australians had served overseas, and more than 60,000 of them had died.

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month attained special significant after the war and was commemorated as Armistice Day for many years. But after the Second World War, it was renamed Remembrance Day.

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month is an important commemoration. On this day, as we observe one minute's silence, we honour the service of those brave men and women who served Australia and its allies in all wars, conflicts and peace operations.
